but, $1 USD a figure is cheap? Gimmee a break!

I made my fantasy armies out of the following:

Note that the AOM figures shown are only the semi-historical ones, but links take you to photos of the full line.

I will not go into detail, but would rather let the pictures speak for themselves. Anyway, they paint up well and easy, and average about $.05 USD per figure for the Risk Pieces, and $.15 USD per figure for the Age of Mythology pieces.

Now THAT's cheap! wink

Who is cheaper? The game pieces or the gamer buying the pieces? LOL.

I have the AoM figures and love them. I also salvaged the little blocks as markers/counters. I ditched the rest of the game as being unplayable.

My cheap fantasies don't involve toy soldiers.

You can still get the LOTR figs as replacement parts from Hasbro, and I believe Eagle Games still sells AOM figs.

NoLongerAMember09 Nov 2009 3:19 p.m. PST

Hell, darthfozzywig, my expensive fantasies don't either…

You might try Caesar Miniatures, they have some plastic fantasy stuff in those sizes.

Dark Alliance has some orcs as well.

How big are those risk pieces? I was under the impression they were comparable to 15mm.

GreatScot7209 Nov 2009 8:17 p.m. PST

The Risk pieces are a good match for 15mm-at least the archers and goblins.

Yeah, they are about 15mm.

Thanks,

John
