I had an opportunity to sit in on an Aerodrome 2.0 game at the recent FALL IN, Friday night from about 6 to 8 PM, run by Stan Kubiak himself.

Having played the WWI version for a few years on and off (mostly run by Hal Dyson at many DC area conventions), my first comment is that the system hasn't changed that much between 1.0 and 2.0.. you still have to plot three phases a turn, use the peg boards etc. In this respect I don't find it much different from either Blue Max or a current favorite, Wings of War (card based).

The WW2 version is different in terms of the simulation-- the aircraft are faster and perform differently than their WWI counterparts.

Still it was a fun game (even if I was handily shot down!) and I would definitely play it again.

Played it myself w/the Aerodrome group I'm with. Did a Battle Of Britain scenario. Spits and 'Canes v. 109's and a 110,I think.
