awesome minis, you'll be hearing from me next week!

Also, out of curiosity, any plans for walkers for this army or are they strictly anti-grav?

Any plans for other types of troops? Things like the Kark version of a mortar team, bazooka team and whatever else?

khurasanminiatures09 Nov 2009 3:56 p.m. PST

Thanks Grabula. Yes I think walkers don't really go with the pelagic dominate line. There will be a walker for the corporate marines though.

I see mortar and other teams as sort of mid 20th century and I think the PD would rely on vehicles to provide most of that sort of fire support, particularly as many of the PD species are operating in an alien environment when they fight land battles -- their extremely high tech allows them to do so on par with terrestrial species though.

The Karks, unlike most PD sentients, are amphibious, meaning they evolved to function in water or on land, which makes them extremely valuable line troopers for the Dominate.

That said, the karks serve as mercenaries when the Dominate is not at war, so I may well make some infantry support guys for them in the future! But it's not on the frontburner now for the sculptor -- that's the Chewks. grin

Dragon gunner the dolly pieces for the Corp marine special assault brigade are one of the many pieces sitting at the casters awaiting casting. I honestly don't know!

Pretty much everything they offer is cool!

Any chance we'll see 15mm strike infantry?

khurasanminiatures10 Nov 2009 6:09 a.m. PST

Dreadnought, the special assault brigade will fill the same role but the look will be completely different.

Grabula10 Nov 2009 6:27 a.m. PST

Khurasanminiatures – will you be producing "power armor" for any of the races you are doing currently?

Otherwaise thanks for the extra detail on the Karks!

khurasanminiatures10 Nov 2009 6:58 a.m. PST

Yes.the marine corp will get heavy power armour, the special assault brigade.

In a way the Garn are power armoured, but use field technology rather than physical barrier protection. Sort of like in Dune, actually, except there's not a nuclear detonation if the field is hit!

And the Cnidarians wear battle dress, a gel-based power armour cognate in that it greatly enhances the troopers strength, gives protection from enemy attacks (particularly laser attacks) and provides environmental buffeting.

awesome stuff!

though I wouldn't mind seeing some Karks in heavy armor …. :P
