At Fall In, Old Glory had three new 25mm ships: a 4-gun sloop ($50), a 4-gun brigantine ($50), and a 6-gun schooner ($75). They're not shown on the website yet. |

Thanks for the update. I wonder when we will see more new pre-paints? |

Awesome! Any idea of the dimensions? I've heard some of the ships appear rather skinny with 28mm crew on deck, but it varies from ship to ship. |

sjpatejak, The new ships will be on the web site sometime today or tomorrow. They are so new that I was only given the codes and info on them the day before we left for Fall In. I wanted to add them while we were at the show but could not get on line in the hotel where we were staying. Sometime today I will take pictures of the unpainted ships to put up so they can at least be seen until I can get painted ones up. I am sorry for the delay but be assured I am working on this. darthfozzywig, When I get these on I will put the dimensions up also. Teresa

I'm also looking forward to seeing the dimensions. These come just in time for my group's next pirate campaign, I may have to renew my OG card soon

Looks like they're up. I'm digging the 6 gun schooner. How many masts do these have? link link link |

Those look pretty good but seem a bit expensive? The 4 gun sloop is a little less than half the size of the Corvette you guys make (which I just bought and I like alot) comes with alot less guns and is the same price? |

Schooners usually have two masts. I imagine the sloops are single-masted, given their size. |

With the army card they're similarly priced to those put out by Flagship Games for a similar size with only 1 gun included. They also seem to have a fair amount of detail on the hull. TGA -- I've noticed with ships made for gaming, the name doesn't always match the configuration. |

Thats true, but I'm comparing it to their own product line. They have a few boats in the gunboats and galleys section that are the same scale, larger, and have more cannons and are still very usable for pirates that cost the same. The French corvette for example comes with 22 guns and 4 swivels and is 14 inches long and 3 inches wide roughly and its the same price as the 4 gun sloop which is almost half as long and has a lot less guns. |

The sloop has one mast. The other two have two masts. As for the cost, they're a lot cheaper than the various galleons they make, but not that much more than the 10-gun brigantine. |

Frantic, just picked up 2 Corvettes. They are quite nice, the design is simple and clean. I have a feeling the newer ships above will be a different animal entirely detail wise. They're next on my list (a schooner at least), I'll post my thoughts when I have it in hand. Initially though, I have to agree, the Corvette is a great deal for a decent sized ship that will paint up easily. You certainly get quite a few guns with it too. |

OG just put up some more pics. I honestly don't see a large difference in detail
sure there are a couple little details they added but it doesn't make sense to me. Compare the Schooner and their larger brigantine. Same level of detail, 4 less cannons and its a little smaller. I think I will email them and ask them why these are so expensive. Maybe theres a good reason I haven't thought of :) |

Well, I can now post a side by side comparison. The Difference in detail is far greater than the OG site shows. The Schooner is one BIG chunk of resin. The cannons are massive as well, much larger than the ones that come with the corvette (probably twice the size, sorry no pics yet) and also comes with a helmsman. Based on materials alone, I can see why this costs more. Really, at $30 USD and $45 USD these are both great ships. I'm leaning towards the schooner, though, it just looks better IMHO. Schooner: solid hull solid aft cabin 6 BIG guns 2 masts w/ crows nests nicely detailed playable deck (w/cabin top) ~11 1/4" x ~3 1/4" Corvette: hollow hull hollow aft cabin (some detail on interior) 20 cannons (small) 4 swivel guns 3 masts w/ crows nests medium detail playable deck (w/ aft castle) ~12" x ~3" link link link link link link link link link |

Wow, those are some amazing ships. I was thinking of going 15mm, but now I'm rethinking it
|
| dandiggler | 02 Feb 2010 9:31 p.m. PST |
Yeah, my only complaint about the Schooner so far is that the banner on the back above the windows is a bit rough as is, but a little sanding and it's starting to look better. I thought about 15mm as well, but there's a lot of great looking ships out there in 28mm now and these look incredible for the price. |
