Howdy, pardners. If y'all mosey on over to my blog geeklydigest.blogspot.com then you'll see the first building I've made for my Legends of the Old West board.

Actually, it's the first piece of terrain I've ever made, so any suggestions for improvement for future buildings would be very gratefully received.

Thanks :)

Looking good so far. You can add some small side building to others to give them a different look. and Dont forget the outhouse.

Does look good. And nice job on the Scorpion figures too.

That's really nice. Any interest in casting it in resin? It looks top quality.

very very nice….
For a land office, it would work quite nicely. Only suggestion to remember is that for shops or for the undertaker to display his wares, and the recently deceased, to make the windows larger.

Thanks for the kind words, all grin

bandit86 – good idea. Actually, an outdoor 'facility' was next on my list.

mweaver – I really enjoyed painting those Black Scorpion figures; they're beautifully designed with the right balance between detail and ease of getting a brush into all the nooks and crannies, IMO.

nycjadie – aww shucks, you're making me blush! Actually, I don't even know how to go about casting things. Besides, I reckon my next ones will be better, although I am pleased with the roof.

Murphy – crosspost, I wasn't ignoring you. That's a good point on the windows, I'll sort that for the next ones.

Oh, and Gungnir, I'm so sorry that I left your name off my inspiration list (just reread my blogpost) – I'll update that now.

I obeyed the instruction in LotOW for my first building & used foam board, found pinning the whole thing together fiddly. Thereafter used robust cardboard boxes for 'closed' buildings & thick balsa for those with lift off rooves…

Privies are a doddle to make & you can use all sorts of left over scraps & ends of balsa from larger projects
