The Minnesota Miniatures Gamers Association held its quarterly game day (not to be confused with HMGS South's "Recon" in Cocoa Beach) on Saturday. Among a variety of games was a nice 10mm Napoleonic scenario run by Elliott James of The Centurions. Pictures are in a set on my Flickr page: link |

Why don't you guys bring your games down to Florida FOR RECON 2010. The beach is beautiful here at the end of April. Not to hot and no humidity! hmgs-south.com Marty President HMGS-South |

If I didn't have a prior committement I'd love to come. I put on the Napoleonic game at the MN Recon. Is it always the same weekend? Elliott |

No, thanks; not in Florida. Still too hot, even in April. Besides why would I travel halfway across a continent when I'm already here in "Wargame Heaven", and the temperature is a refreshing 3 degrees F. (the wind died down a bit, so the wind chill is all the way up to a balmy -7). Why don't you come up to Minnesota and join us? Jeff |

Good photos – that naval game looked particularly enticing to me. Do you know what rules/miniatures they were using? |

Sorry to jump in on this Jeff. They are 1:300 scale models researched and scatched built by War Artisan: link link |

Thanks, Elliott. Mister Rab: The plan is for the cardstock model ships to be available commercially soon; how soon depends on when I get enough time to complete the first set, because I'm not putting them out there until I have the complete order of battle for a given scenario (in this case, the Battle of Valcour Island, Lake Champlain, 1776). The rules were a playtest version of a set designed specifically for actions between small vessels under sail, working title "Away Boarders!". It will be offered for free when the models become available. Jeff |
