I'm thinking of starting an AK47 mini-campaign at my local club next year for abouthalf a dozen players. It might be a one day set up or spread out over a few club nights. Any help, suggestions, ideas etc would be very welcome (I'm already signed up to the AK47 campaign and RFCM yahoo groups) Cheers |

There was a very good article in a back issue of Wargames Illustrated about setting up a fairly simple but effective campaign for AK-47. I'll see if I still have the issue around here and let you know. |

I have found two different campaign systems for AK-47 in my old copies of Wargames Illustrated. Send me your mail address and I will send you a copy of both. PaulCollins@dc.rr.com |

Area campaign map movement, vehicle mounted can move two areas and units with any group on foot can only move one. Each area offers something to win or lose here are some examples
1. Port (lose ability to replace armor vehicles no tanks if you lose this area.) 2. Airport (lose air strikes, helicopters and air insertion ability) 3. Major Border Crossing (UN aid package cut lose militia groups) 4. Diamond Mines (major source of revenue lost so no fuel for vehicles, no unit can have more than two vehicles.) 5. Military Depot (lose ammunition stockpile no mortars in your entire force) The list goes on

Issue 148, Feb. 2003, has an article entitled An AK47 Ladder Campaign. Issue 130, July 1998, has an article entitled The Dagomba Civil War: A Modern African Campaign. It is the better of the two, IMO. I'll pop both in the mail today. |
