It took a while, but I suddenly realized that no one I know of makes fantasy cavalry in 1/72. I have the Caesar 1/72 elves and undead boxes. Why did they not release cavalry?!?

What could we use for mounted orcs, dwarves, and elves that would look good alongside 1/72 figures?

Without the cavalry, this project will be dead. :-(

Barbarian 1/72 cavalry painted green or appropriate orc-ish color? For elves, can you do headswaps with a cav line that you like?

I use the 15mm Eureka mounted orcs and dwarves for 1/72. The dwarves are mounted on ponies, and only a bit smaller than the Caesar dwarves. The orcs don't match well with Caesar, but I think they wouldn't be too bad with the Dark Alliance orcs.

For orcs…

I sized them against some HaT 1/72 late Roman medium infantry. They are perfect orcs! Wolves are your cavalry!

I have the goblin factory goblins, and they are in between 15mm and 25mm figs, so should work great at 20mm.

I have a lot of Demonworld orcs, and they are bigger than those, and I have GW Lord of the Rings goblins, and they are smaller than those.

The Eureka Wood Elves are way out of scale for 15mm so will work as 20mm. They stand at about 19-21mm in height. The Eureka orcs are a little closer to 15mm so wouldn't be great in 20mm. I use them alongside my Demonworld orcs, and thought the style is different, they are in the same scale.

How big are the GF wolves? Same size as a 1/72 horse, or smaller?

Prinz August has skeletons riding horses and goblins riding wolves, if you're willing to cast them.

I think they are a touch smaller than a 1/72 horse if memory serves. Unfortunately, I did not bring a horse to compare them too. They should work fine though I think.

I have the GF goblins, but no wolf riders, so I can't help with that.

Mount the goblins on the zombie dogs you can buy for the game Zombies.

What about the Lucky Toys Huns riding the old Ral Partha wolfpack. Paint the Huns as orcs

What about the Arcane Legions stuff that just came out. I sow the figs at Gen Con and they look to be about 1/72 scale.

I use the caesar knights with a skeleton head swap. for my orcs I use the boars and wolves from the 18mm blood dawn range. I think they are a perfect match with the caesar orcs and goblins
