All, Has anyone heard anything about why thescene.co.uk has taken down the MJ Miniatures line? I was going to place an order today and noticed they were down. -CK- |

It does say on the Homepage that Mike hoped they will be available on the webstore again shortly. I've emailed him for more info. Cheers Mark |

Mike has let me know that he has regretably taken the Sci Fi range off sale whilst certain issues raised by a large games company are sorted. Cheers Mark |

To be honest I don't know how they didn't complain before, I have some of these fortunately and they are Nick figures, Mikes a great bloke to talk to at the shows so I wish him the best of luck getting them back up. |

clkeagle, I don't have any Orks, but if you are looking for some of the Marines, I may be able to help you out depending on how many you need. I don't have any of the Jet bikes of jump packs, just normal Marines and maybe some veterans. If you want to discuss, drop me an email. My email address is my TMP User name @hotmail.com Jeff |

I have a ton of the orks (just over a 100 of them) and love them very much. I did not get them from the Scene, I got mine from MJ just before MJ sold it. I hope the Big company takes a step back, and lets them continue with there minis. You know some one should sue GW and I do not have an issue with them. They have bullied way to many people. I will never give them a penny. Noel |

well, the trick is to not do exact replicas but to make sure you're models have enough changes to warrant something different. Then prepare to weather a potential legal storm. It's sad really, while I can understand protecting your IP rights and all that, GW has gone completely over the top with the measures they've taken to do so. Fortunately, we're supplied by tons of other awesome stuff. It's too bad, I want to like GWs stuff but they make it hard to do sometimes. |

There are parts of GW's older "look" they can't really control without putting Kev Adams and Bob Olley out of business. |

I just want the Bad Command minis to come back . . . |

The orks may look a little like GWs, but the human figures definitely don't. |

True, but green-skinned Orcs/Orks are hardly a GW invention. I wonder if it was the bike design that did it
but even that is fairly generic. |

Boy, these things a real Flying Dutchman, aren't they? I stocked up, and am glad I did. |

Ah, not that WOULD be an IP infringement :-) |

With the recent spate of website takedown notices on top of this, I'd say we are seeing another "Winter of Discontent" for GW. Every few years they seem to suddenly give a damn about fannish IP, sculpts that are (in their opinion) too close for comfort, etc. The last one was tied to the fast fade of the LotR sales figures. Either their quarterly numbers are being put together and they are responding in the wrong way ("Our numbers are falling! Sue all the copycats!"), or this is just a two-three year cycle for them. Heck, they do everything else in cycles, so why not Cease-and-Desists? |

Hi folks Its nice to see there are some people out there that do not want the figures to go. All I can say at the moment is I am doing my best. With my new releases I had planned for the new year, and having already got the new Orc Gattling gun, and mortars finished. Lets see what happens. Many thanks Mike |
