Just received this note from a friend in Edmonton (Nov 5th):

This story about the Calgary Flames jumping the queue for H1N1 vaccinations has had a lot of negative press lately. However, I had a pretty good chuckle this morning…in today's Edmonton Sun they printed this story that started with this opening line:

"The Calgary Flames are getting a lot of negative press for jumping the line for H1N1 needles, but the Edmonton Oilers would rather not comment on the controversial pricks."

There's not that much difference between hockey and skirmish gaming.

Pretty clever headline.

Hear a similar story this morning about large Wall Street firms getting the same number of doses as nearby hospitals.

LOL! Indeed, the context of the last word is not lost on any Edmontonian when it comes to talking about the Flames.

The Ottawa Citizen has similar articles about how the Senators are waiting in line like everyone else.

I expect there are more stories like that coming from Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver…

I only read a brief item on the news ticker on CP24 and not a full story, but the Leafs and the Raptors got their shots too. It didn't say where, however.
