Imagine what you could do with it? Terrain for 1/6th scale gaming? Heck 1/1th scale gaming! No problem!

Terrain? It could do the figures in 1:1 scale, all you would have to do is paint them!

While a very cool piece of equipment, I wonder about the concept and idea of having styrofoam as part of my house….
I'm wondering just how much 'real world weathering", and exposure this stuff will handle before breaking down…

I want the WHOLE SUITE!

And to answer Murphy, most is either painted or coated with stucco or concrete

More than 20 years ago when I was doing electrical project management I had crews build several homes that were built with styrofoam. Kind of cool actually as the wall sections came encased in styrofoam and my electrians had to cut or channel the electrical boxes and cable runs into the walls once they were assembled.

Stands up well to weather once done.

Once you start looking around, there are some amazing building methods out there. I was surprised the first time I saw a new house being built with wood walls/foundation for a basement, but once I had it explained to me it made perfect sense.

The top to the mailbox I built was styrofoam cut to a specific shape then it was coated in a plastic spray that appeared to sand or something in it. I painted it the color of the house and it looks great. I think I could stand on it but not sure if I could jump up and down on it. Besides, they would put me away…

Croma has the same sorts of machines. Haven't looked at their stuff in a long time, but it use to be pretty sharp.

God help them if it ever rains Methyl Ethyl Ketone.
or gets sprayed by Vandals.

Lots of big sculptures here in Vegas are made that way… foam coated with fiberglass or plaster/concrete. Pretty sturdy stuff from what I can tell.

Compared to wood (inconsistent quality, shrinks, swells, rots, it even gets *eaten*), styrofoam has a lot going for it as a building material. Makes for a lousy baseball bat, though…
