These are a rather less than half of the seemingly innumerable Numidian cavalry required for our Zama game.

As someone about to paint some Numidian cavalry, I have to say your timing is excellent!

And so's the painting, but we knew that.

Hi Streetline, thanks! 15s? Simon

20s, plastic, BBDBA, an experiment in The Wash.

A new scale; that way, madness lies!

Mine are going to be dipped.

Dip, Wash… same thing. Ish.

I've always liked the 20mm plastics for the period, just not liked painting them. But a Catharginian BBDBA army is a nice confined project – and cheap, easy to store – that should be OK. It's not like I'll be tempted to expand every cultural group in the army into it's own DBA army.

Oh. I see what you mean…

If you had Carthos, Romans and Macedonians you'd be able to do a nice little campaign.

Did you ever try Command and Colors? They could be used with that, too.

Is that what these Numidians are being based for, Simon? C&C:A?

Love the blog. Great work.

Hi JCBJCB, thanks re the Blog. Yes I mostly use them with C&C:A, which is my favourite set at the moment, but have tried them with Impetus and will hopefully be able to use them with other systems in the future.

Good idea about depicting javelin skirmishers – I suppose you could get much the same effect with 'standard' 60mm bases if you positioned the figures accordingly.

Nice mix of animated figures.

Those look terrific; I love the "whirling mass" effect. (You do know we only have the one day to fight Zama don't you? grin )

Thanks chaps.

Adster, I'm hoping we'll play the game not once, at Bletchley, but twice!

Mind you, if I end up commanding, we'll play it just once and not finish. I can be glacially slow, on occasion. Infamous for it. ;-)
