I was at the virtual armchair general site this morning to order The Mahdist Wars Source Book and noticed an add that said the printer had done a limited run in Black & White by accident and they are offering it for $10 USD cheaper. Would this make a significant difference in your opinions? I understand that the uniform pictures would be in gray-scale so is there a good set of descriptions with each unifrom plate?

thanks,

I have the B&W version. Its not the color but worth its weight in gold nonetheless. The Jibbehs are hard to figure out in grey scale (what patch is blue, red, etc.), but if your painting up early campaign the Jibbehs would be more of a mismatch than later campaign anyway. It's a nice book. I'd probably take a B&W copy in order to save the ten bucks.

I ordered it in the Black and White to save cost and find it a great resource.

I ordered the PDF versions. Got them immediately and took them to the printer and used the photocopy price. I had the 7 or so color pages printed on their laser printer and used sheet protectors and a 3-ring notebook to finish them off. I agree with PAR that the color plates are invaluable for the Jibbehs and flags.

Thanks for the great service VAG!
