I've noticed there seems to be many people on TMP who like L4d. I just wanted to point out the demo for left 4 dead is out on Steam and xbox live for gold accounts. Not a spammer,

I was wondering if anyone else was playing this. Is the L4D2 demo available for everyone now, or just the pre-order folks still? It's pretty cool, I have to say. I like the new dismemberment. It's almost too much, really. And the pipe-bomb ragdolls are impressive. The demo is just too short to really get a feel for it though. Kind of like the first L4D demo was… LOL! |

I like the variety of weapons. I noticed there were variants like Chrome shotgun (less recoil but less ammo) and silenced uzi (silenced but less powerful. To clarify for other readers:

For those interested, I belive you can download the demo for PC from here:

If you don't have Steam installed, you'll need that. I think if you try to download the demo from there, it will prompt you to get Steam if you don't have it already and direct you to where to get it. Good to see that they're getting the demo out to everyone a little quicker this time. |

I played this last night. It was cool. I didn't play much of the first one. I really don't like fast zombies. It's like too frantic. That does make for some cool moments I have to admit. The witch zombie gives me the heebie jeebies. Mongo.

Hey! There's another one! I wonder where Cloudcaptain is? He played some L4D some time back… It's really hard to make a determination on the new demo, with it being so short. But, then, I know I'll like it because I loved the first L4D and this one is very much like it. I don't like the new melee weapons though. They just don't seem like a useful thing and since they replace your pistol(s), they're that much less useful. Still, it IS cool to whack a zombie in the head with the guitar and hear it go *TWANG!*. So far, my coolest moment with the demo has been with the jukebox in the first map. Jonathan Coulton's "Re: Your Brains" is one of the songs it plays, so I decided to listen to the whole thing. When he sings the line "You're all going to die screaming" I heard the horde cry out (the new sound is even creepier!) and I got mobbed. Telling my wife (another avid L4D player) about this, she said that she'd heard somewhere that that line of the song always triggers a horde event. LOL! |

I didn't play around with the Jukebox long enough to get it playing songs, I'm going to have to try that. That's awesome.
I didn't really like how the melee weapon replaced the pistols either and then I couldn't seem to get rid of the melee weapon once I had one. I did actually pick up the machete though and found it to be pretty b!tchin' ;o) I still don't like fast zombies though :o) Mongo |

Count me in too. I pre-ordered L4D2 and have played the demo a number of times. Good fun, especially if you run around armed only with the machete. |

I also like the way the level rearranges itself each time you play it. So you don't necessarily know the exact path to take. Should we share our userids so we can find each other online? |

Yay, we got some players here. I really like the Desert Eagle you find near the barricade. I think the Melee weapon have their purpose, you don't have to reload them and you can hit a couple of zombies in one swing. Maybe we should start exchanging Gamer tags and Steam IDs. I have it on xbox 360 because my computers graphics card isn't exactly uber. |
