Hi all – this is the first of many 80s citadel minis I've recently acquired off ebay to build an old school Wood Elf army. Loads more to come but may take a while so I'll probably concentrate on the more interesting minis first – the Zoat is looking good for my next victim!

Cool! I have a unit of those Wardancers with my Elf army. I loved those sculpts! It's one othe reasons why I started buying figs from GW back in the 80's.

I like your Dr. Who stuff too.

Thanks,

John

I've got a few dozen of the wood elves and war dancers floating around. About six are painted. But, I keep deluding myself into thinking that I'll paint them up one day…

Good work!

I must confess that they are one of my favorite army.

I must take a photo of my Wood Elf army –

20 wardancers, 20 spearmen, 20 full chainmail, hand weapons and shield guys (I think they were original High Elves but they have been retasked!), 60 of the early plastic archers, a unit of pre-slotta Bowmen of Oreon, a dozen archer cavalry, 3 large treemen, a dozen dryads and 10 (TEN) Zoats.

I have a several more units made up of Skarlocs and the other wood elf archer figures waiting, several animal keepers with 3 bears and 12 big cats and a 30 strong halfling archer ally contingent waiting for paint.

Im always on the look out for 80's wood elves specifically guys in chainmail with axes… there was once a unit of 30 of them that went on ebay for ridiculous money but I hope to see something like that again one day!

Wow makes my little band of 12 wardancers, 20 old plastic archers, most of Skarloc's band, 20 gladeguard spearmen, an old treeman, 1 zoat and 4 wildcats along with a boarless boarmaster pale into insignificance! Very jealous of the hordes of wild cats and bears! Is that your army SGTPerry? Nice pic!

Nah. You have a Zoat. Awesomeness is automatic with Zoats.

Just added a Sorceress and Were-fox familiar to the blog –

The Sorceress is actually an old Dark Elf and the Were-fox is just wierd!

I have that old Dark Elf fig unpainted in a box. I bought the blister for the other guy… Which a friend partly painted…
