Googline for foam to build a topo-map style game table I came across something called Komatex. It is a rigid foam sheet. It comes in thicknesses from 1mm to 25mm and looks like it would be pretty easy to work with.

Do you have any experience with it?

Also known as "Sintra." Someone recently posted a terrain-making message and they had used Sintra. Don't remember who, but here are past TMP posts:

Does the Sintra warp?

It's really, really nice for buildings.

* Sticks together with superglue;
* Cuts easily;
* Is sandable;
* Can be painted with spraypaints;
* Doesn't warp when it's painted or glued;

Pretty much all the advantages of foamcore with none of the disadvantages.
