Hi guys, Does anyone know what this range is like and if they mix well with other 15mm medieval manufacturers? (Mainly Peter pig, Essex, Old glory and Feudal castings). If anyone has any pics or know's of any they can share that would be awesome. I'm also looking into medieval ranges by; Roundway and Tin soldier. If you know anything on the quality of thier castings and if they mix well? Sadly none of these manufacturers have images on thier sites. I'm not interested in the full range produced, just the Dismounted knights, Archers and Billman made by each company. I don't like to buy with out knowing what i'm getting so thought someone on TMP might be able to help. Thanks and regards Chris |

I had a dozen or so WOTR Minifigs that I've had since the early 90's,and painted them last week. The sculpts are a little dated, but with a matching paint job, they mix pretty well with my Essex. |

Do you have any pics you would be kind enough to share with me? Thanks Chris |

Best single site for reference must be Madaxeman.com link You can at least get a general feel. I agree with him that the Tin Soldier minis can border on cartoonish – and personally wouldn't touch them. Cheers Mark |

As you have probably found, they are a little taller, and thinner than Essex, but are very nice miniatures. Too bad they don't post photos of them on their website. |

PROVIDED YOU DON'T MIND JOINING THE RFCM YAHOO GROUP.. link This pic shows my figures, one unit neatly including Essex and Minifigs archers, Feudal and Minifigs billmen and men at arms. The minifigs archers come with cast on stakes which I have carved off. Graham |

I've only ever acquired 15mm Minifig for this period(ish) when I picked up a DBA Burgundian pack in a Virgin record shop years ago. However I've always been pretty eclectic about my WOTR/HYW figures, particularly longbowmen, so here are some comparisons link link link link Aren't digital cameras marvellous for a quick turn round! |

Thanks; Jeremy You've compared most of the ranges I am buying or looking to buy! I am picking up some Donnington "New age" figures at warfare 2009 this month and had hoped they would mix well with Corvus belli. Judging by your pics my hopes are confirmed ;-) Looking at the photo's Museum look they will mix OK with the likes of Peter pig etc on the same base. Is this the case as I had heard they were closer to 18mm then traditional 15's? I like the range but had shied away from buying them as I thought they would be to large to intigrate with my army plans. Thanks a lot for your help and pics. To; Bruntonboy. I will sign up today. Keen to take a look at your pics too. Thanks. Regards Chris |

Chris FWIW my armies are made up largely of Mini-Figs (a very cheap bulk buy many years ago), Essex, Museum, Front Rank (I don't think these are around at the moment) Feudal (now LKM) and Peter Pig. All the foot from these mix well. Cavalry is different, Peter Pig and Feudal Horses tend to be smaller. The Minifigs are okay but as I said earler their archers come with a cast on stake that is a nuisance to carve away as it is attached to the bows. Going at the current prices I would say I would plumb for the LKM/Feudal figures as these are probably my favourite figures. |

Oops, just realised you only wanted to know about foot anyway! Also the Roundway figures are a good match with Minifigs for style and size, I only have a few and had forgotten about them in the mix that makes up my WOR army

So far I have bought; Peter pig, Fedual castings and Corvus Belli all of which I have been very happy with. I have put in orders with several other manufacturers for collection at Warfare 2009 later this month including; Essex, Lancashire games, Donnington and Old glory 15's. I have painted up the majority of what I originally bought but have not based any yet. I am waiting until I have all the figures painted and arrayed in front of me so I can group together the manufacturers and poses that mix well for the greatest possible variation on a base. I am also using certain manufacturers exclusively for each side. For example I am going to use; Peter pig, Essex, Feudal casting together for Yorkist archers, Peter pig and Feudal castings for Yorkist Bill and Dismounted knights and Peter pig for all cavalry, artillery, Pike and handgunners. I will then mix Peter pig and Feudal casting for the crossbow units. Corvus belli, Donnington "New era", Lancashire games and Old glory for Lancaster archers and dismounted knights. Old glory for Billman. Mirliton for the Cavalry and Pike and Old glory again for the artillery, handgunners and Crossbows. I am looking at adding just a bit of further variation and picking up a few extra packs of well cast archers, foot knights and billman. I really like the Museum miniatures range but have been told they don't mix well as they are much larger than true 15's. Minifigs looks to be what I'm looking for especially if they mix well with Essex/PP. PS; I am also getting a command group pack from Blackhat games but didn't like the rest of their range. Every time I think I'm nearing the end of researching manufacturers for this project someone mentions another. Looks like; Minifigs, Roundway and possibly even Museum might be getting business from me now! Regards and thanks Chris |

To; Bruntonboy. I joined the group. Where do I find the photos you mentioned please? Couldn't seem to find them. Cheers Chris |

Chris In any Yahoo group you need to go to the menu on the left to find photos that have been posted. The files section is useful too. There could be rules variants people have tried or scenarios etc. I think you will find that the Museum WOTR archers are a tad larger than most 15mm but theuir HYW ones are a better match. Quite frankly with number of archers you need and the mass on the table you'll barely be aware of the size difference. This shows a base of Museum WOTR dismounted knights with Peter Pig standard bearers. link While this one is a base of Corvus Belli HYW Knights with a PP standard bearer. link The PP/Corvus Belli match is better than the Museum/PP one. |

Chris, you will find the pictures in the Photo section, page three- the folder is entitled "Molies Barons". Don't get too excited though, there is only 4 or 5 pictures and one of them is a bit of a dog. Graham |
