Deceptive title. No single giant jellyfish sunk the boat. Rather, it capsized when trying to haul in a net that was overloaded with numerous large jellyfish(es). |

Ivan DBA, Of course that's what the "official" explanation would be. This forum isn't interested in such nonsense as "official" explanations or the real world facts. They are interested in ideas for monsters, scenarios, gaming ideas and the like. Please don't let reality get in the middle of a good time. And, of course, we ALL believe the "official" explanation, don't we? Just like the ones issued in so many of those great movies we've seen – THEM!, It Came From Beneath The Sea, X-Files, etc. JJ |

Wasn't this in a Godzilla movie? |

Maybe they all jumped into the net to bring down the boat, ala "Finding Nemo"? |

Wow, 200 kg jellyfish. That is frightening
.. Sounds like good fodder for an undersea horror scenario. Add them on top of the explosion of squid in the Eastern Pacific, and divers have a few new things to worry about. |

Attack of the extremely exaggeratingly large jellyfish. The shore line is no longer safe, they'll eat your fish and then they'll eat you. |

This looks like a job for Bat Boy! Isn't there a mild mannered reporter on the Weekly World News that can get in touch with him? |

The gent who would normally handle that is currently unavailable, being on a road trip with H. Ross Perot to visit the aliens they've interviewed to get their opinion about the new documentary being passed of as a sci-fi flick, Alien Abduction. BTW, what that "official" story doesn't touch upon the numbers of other vessels that have "gone missing" but are largely unreported, or, the biological analysis of the baby jellyfish that are being blamed for the capsizing. "Momma" is still out there. |
