Naval Thunder Guys, Your website lists this addition to the Pre-Dreadnoughts . . . can you tell us what will be in it (which navies/years covered)? And when you expect to "publish" it? -- Jeff

Its mainly going to be an additional navies supplement. Its still in the conceptual phase right now. With the Russia and Japan already done, we're considering the following: U.S. Great Britain France Italy Austro-Hungary Germany Six seems like a tall order though. If we decide all 6 isn't feasible, is there a top 4 from the above you'd like to see? Not sure how many scenarios there are going to be. But if somebody could find me some detailed information of battles during the period, it would make it a lot more likely. Right now (subject to change of course) we're looking at probably every battleship, significant cruiser, and maybe a sample destroyer or two commissioned by these nations between 1890 and 1905 that was not scrapped or sold off prior to 1905. Might go as far back as 1885 – depends on how much it adds to the scope and how many warships of significance carried forward from then. As far as a release date, we've had to shuffle the schedule around some based on some shifting circumstances. Probably be looking at mid to late 1Q 2010. We're working hard on our backlog though so that date may advance if we make some unexpected progress on things currently in the pipe. Hope that helps some! |

TheDreadnought, Thank you for posting this. Hmmm, while I certainly would like to see Germany, Britain and France, it seems strange that you have the US without having Spain . . . after all, they actually fought. And, as recent posts (German Pacific Squadron @ Manila) here have indicated, the Germans (and possibly the Brits as well) would provide for interesting "what if" scenarios. And what about the Chinese? They fought the Japanese too (albeit earlier . . . and not very successfully). -- Jeff

I might be able to squeeze in Spain and China. I don't think they had very large fleets off hand, but I'd have to check. |

RaguKid, "Rise of the Battleship II" is supposed to cover Pre-Dreadnoughts . . . 1880s-1905 or so . . . a bit early for your WWII Dutch. -- Jeff

But de Ruyter was perfectly prepared for the 1905 Japanese navy
