Hi Simon,

I just wanted to say Thanks for all your previous efforts – your "Late Rome and the Goths" booklet (not the actual title, but similar …) got me going on the Late Roman period, and your Comitatus rules gave me a good couple of years of gaming. I'll be taking a look at the new set – perhaps it's time to get back into the period.

Cheers,

Christopher

Yeah, started gaming Late Roman era with Roman's, Goth's and Hun's. Bought the Legio and Comitatus rulebooks. Really liked the ideas in them. Was pleased with the changes made in the later Comitatus edition. I'll check out the new version.

Thanks a lot.

John

Thanks for providing these rules. Very good sets. Very good booklet on the Huns etc…as well.

Played the new Dark Age rules a couple of weeks ago.
Great stuff! Just what I needed to get the enthusiasm restarted.

Stephen

PS…are you going to the Reading show, Simon?

My very first historical rules were these! I believe they were inside your book Goths Huns & Vikings and Romans. This was also my first experience with stands as units. Prior to this, my fantasy wargaming was 1:1. thanks!

smacdowall20 Nov 2009 2:44 a.m. PST

The very first version was indeed inside Goths Huns and Romans. This is really version 3, expanded to cover up to the 1st Crusade and adopting Andy Callan's concept of Disruption Points to replace record keeping. Thanks for the kind words
