Yarr. This year I made my Halloween game a bit of a surprise for my players….I didn't tell them that is what we were doing! I've been painting up Irregular Miniatures 25mm Pirates (I've posted other threads here on TMP). But what my gaming group didn't know was that I had also been painting IM's 25mm ZOMBIE Pirates!

So everyone was invite over for a Pirate Raid on the little town of Puerto del Muerto "Port of the Dead". The rules were my variation of GW's Mordhiem. Little did they know….Muhahahahahahaha!!!!!

I laid my town out and at my wife's suggestion we got "Spider Webbing" from a local store. I pulled it apart and stretched it out to create the fog effect. As the party moved into a fog patch, it was removed and I flipped a card to tell me how many Zombies should appear. When the last Zombie was killed another card told me how much "gold" to award the players. As they left one fog area and entered another, the fog was replaced, as you move through the fog in real life it surrounds you, your vision is very limited. Plus there would be no fast escapes.

My Pirate cast of Characters were:

Linda the Alluring: She steals men's hearts…and then their Coin Purses

Fancy Dan: "I got 2 swords…one for both of ya"

Cap'n Phil: Lost his hand in a sailing dispute

Shawn the Quiet: He speaks softly but carries a big BOOM-Stick

Kevin the Treasure Sorter: "One for you, two for me….you got a problem with that?"

The players all made it out alive with 2 treasure chests, and everyone had a good time.

Here are some pictures of the Cast and the ensuing action

I hope you enjoy them

I like it.

Thanks for sharing.

The fog definitely adds a nice touch to the game…..

Very cool! What's the name of the "Spider Webbing" that you got?

PzGeneral31 Oct 2009 3:36 p.m. PST

No real name on the bag. It just says "Spider Web". On the back it says "Seasons, USA"

99 cents a bag, only used 1 bag.

That kind of stuff is usually only available at Halloween, so run down and get some on clearance this week if you want to use it for something in the next year.

I love the idea of using the spider webing as fog. That works just so well.

I really like the fog effects!
I may use that idea.
