Anyone up for a build off?

Rules would be simple.

Build this picture
within a given time period.

Scale or size is not so important, IMO, it is after all an alien plant and I for one have not seen it in person so I do not know how big it is…mine will be fairly large.

Say, by Thanksgiving or 26 Nov 09?

I am most certainly in…please say at least 4 others are on board?

I would, but we've already got one at the game store.

The way those plants look, i suggest having them done by easter is a better idea!

Why not be a pal and let people choose their own alien plant for the group build instead of specifying the one youve chosen???

Well of course you can make anything you like…I am challenging myself to make that one…and was offering to include others :)

I would be open to a cross challenge also or by description.

But yes of course any alien plant would be fun!

What do you mean? You have a model of that plant already…oooo nice, pics perhaps?

PS
I came up with a modified straw technique for plant making that is really coooool. But I will wait to see if anyone jumps on board before I post it…fun times.

Yeah – it looks very similar – one of our gamers for one of our "Terrain Tournaments" where the entry fee was either $15 USD or three pieces of terrain – entered it for the tournament. I'll see if I can dig up a picture if I remember that after Halloween! grin

I got one already growing in the back yard…

Yikes…is it an eggplant or are we joking? :)

If I had a camera, I'd post photos of the one I made this week. It is very much like that, except that it is more like gourd-shaped, with a small opening on top for inserting plastic plants or other.

I call it my alien plant/animal trunk.

The moment I can find a camera, I'll post photos.

Didn't MATAKISHI do something like that a year or two ago ?

28mmMan30 Oct 2009 5:17 p.m. PST

Why yes he did…masterful site full of goodness…wish he lived near me, would be nice to see all that goodness first hand.

I may give this a shot, all my terrain looks like it is from Earth.

Doesn't everybody keep a ready supply of plastic Easter eggs?

I plan to cast mine in blue resin and under light it.

I will use my modified straw technique around it.

The gears they are a'turning…
