Is anyone actively working on playing this theme?

If so, I would love to hear what you have accomplished so far!

Yer Welcome!
Humm….
Some interesting tid bits in there. I may have to incorporate them into my game…

And yes.
I am working on a homebrew game for The Thing. Complete with PvP action!

All players start as humans, but can be switched over to Things…
Playtested it a few times. Needs LOTS of work.

BTW…

When there were several "Things" running around in camp, do you think that they were all aware of each other?
IF so, would they help each other?

Or was there only one THING running around?

Richard,

Thanks so much for that link.

"Complete with PvP action"

PvP?

Player vs. Player….
Each player has an objective and a few secondary objectives.
So when players 'turn', they have a new set of objectives.
So it starts as a co=operative game, then it all goes to hell. Real quick.

Right now, the Humans have never won in all of the playtests. I still need to work on balance…

That is why I am wondering if there were several Things or just one running about… That could lessen the challenge of my game…

Awesome.

As for the single vs multiple aliens, wasn't there someone already in the shed that was infected, while they did the blood vs heat test inside the station?

Or am I confusing the timeline?

Dan
PS. Personally, I hope I'm wrong and there was only one "Thing" at any given time.

The new movie is the Thing, pt. 0. It is a prequel. It shows what happened when the Norwegians found the flying saucer and the original thing.

It ends with them chasing the dog in the Helicopter to the American base.

Ahh, but maybe someone else survived and when in the opposite direction.
