I am thinking they'll perhaps work with Battletech or the like?

I think they are pretty close to 1:600. I've used them with ironclads.

they are tiny , i hoped they would match my 1/300th sci fi , but they are way too small .. as the post above they are more like 1/600- 700

Dwight, do you own them? If so, could you provide a few measurements, maybe a comparison shot to a common scale (1/600 would be good, but even a 28mm would be useful)

Hmm, looks like they'll be too small for Battletech, but they may work, they'll just make the mechs look bigger . . . .
