A drum magazine on a Bren gun? Wow that's different. I reenact WW2 Canadian forces and have never heard of that before. Nice photos by the way.

They were for brens that were being used as AA guns, like in the picture.

The resistance was so realistically disguised, I wouldn't have noticed them if you hadn't pointed it out ;-).

Just as an interesting note if you havent seen one -

The AA tripod in use with the Bren is the same as the ground tripod – there was a provision to add a fourth leg (or use an enfield rifle) – the the front leg became the vertical post – and there was a collar to hook the Bren to (which can be seen in the photo)…

Drum mags for Brens are still available (for $1,000) :-)
