my link to nordlingen still works , but i can't get back into the other battles as it keeps telling me that geocities is no more .

Geocities is indeed no more.

All sites are gone.

Owners may have reproduced them elsewhere, of course.

But a lot were 'dead records' and there was not much notification of the end of service.

Yep, it's moved to Lycos. I read some of the battle reports, and I think it cleared up a number of misconceptions I had, especially about the earlier parts of the period.

That website is behaving oddly in IE 6; there's no scroll bars, but there's more content than fits onscreen.

I tried it on IE 8 with developer tools, and it has a load of JavaScript error alerts coming up, so its probably not your browser – just teething following the change of location.

you could try another free download browser, if you really wanted too.

I wish the cover page battle picture was larger and in colour!

Seems to work Ok in Firefox.
