Weird. Yesterday, back in 1943, absolutely nothing even remotely interesting happened at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. Nope, nothing to see here, move along
link Now I think this has a TON of gaming potential
A group of heroes need to board a ship to get/stop the generator, but they are too late, and now monsters from a different dimension inhabit the ship. Good stuff for AE:WW2 or .45 Adventure

I always thought this would be a good way to introduce some super powered Americans into a WWWII game. The effect could have caused crew members to become invisible (either permanantly or switchable), given them teleporational abilities, phasing powers, or of course the old stand by, flight. |

back in the mid 70's there was a book titled "Thin Air" that covered the incident with the DE USS Eliot. It seems that the USN made the ship disapear three times. Not only did the ship disapear, but did not show on radar. Some sourses state that an accident accured where the crew that was cut down to 55, afew did not reapear and some had melded with the ships surfaces. I remember some movie in the early 80's that covered it and that was one of the last scenes in the movie where the ship reapears with some of the crew stuck in the deck. |
