These are Essex 15mm Polish Winged Hussars with Pancerni and Cossacks. The wings were seperate from the rider and were a pain to put together, however, the end result was not bad. link Cheers, Robert 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.com |

I'm just doing some Legio Heroic ones now. Lovely figures, paint up exctemely well. Take more time to assemble than paint (well , almost) The wings are a pain – always the way. some fool in the old days decided 15mm was the perfects scale to artfully model the wings separately, and only allow you to have a single 'pin' to attach them with, and every scale and manufacturer has followed. A sensible person would either mold a block of the back with both wings already in it, or at least carve two lines for the wings to run along. Same sensilble person would also include a ball weight, rather than a bendy soft metal lance, and we could slip the ball over out steel spears to make the lance without having to roll out our own. but no. So, fantastic figures, but again, a real pain to assemble.
Still, I do recommend looking at them first, as after assembly, they are worth it. |

Use a small (micro) bead to put on a steel rod lance. I have some old MiniFig hussars with a single piece double wing. They were probably the first ones made, in 70's or early 80's but no one would use them now. I turned them into DBR "fake hussars" |

I've used both the essex and Old Glory ones and both are excellent. I would recommend them both. I will get some legio heroica ones when I see some. |

Thanks everyone for all the help! In the Old Glory packs the pictures show just a couple of wings. Does each figure come with wings? I have other Old Glory figures so these would fit well. Thanks Terry |

I've got Essex, as well. The lances on the charging figures are not couched. They're sticking off to the side and if I touch them just right, they snap off. It's a simple glue job, but I would recommend either the lance upright or a bend job on the charging figures to give more an appearance of a couched lance. JW |
