in my defence, I'm a shocking typist, and do know the date.

the evidence is sketchy however, but I got it right in a pub quiz three years ago, if only I could find someone to stnad as witness.

A witness, a witness, your kingdom for a witness?

no one seems interested by the lead cannon balls found here.

A significant find worth comment, I would have thought.

It makes a lot of 'Wars of the Roses' army lists and rules suddenly require revision.

I used to reenact with Richard Knox. He is a fine chap, exceptionally skilful with a broadsword, (Been killed by him scores of times!) owns huge numbers of military uniforms/kit including Wars of the Roses armour & he's a wargamer to boot. One of us!

NB if Boudicca's army was destroyed at Smockington's Hollow the both battlefields are in the same A-Z grid square…

Ah- link doesn't mention Knoxie. He's the archaeologist in charge of search & now curator of vistors centre

"Ah- link doesn't mention Knoxie. He's the archaeologist in charge of search & now curator of visitors centre"

No it doesn't, because the work was led by Dr. Glenn Foard of the Battlefields Trust (and one of the UK's leading battlefield archaeologists):

Ah- well he's majorly involved anyway, & was on the local TV news

Knox's only involvement seems to be that he is relieved that the battlefield is still in Leicestershire and thus they won't have to close the visitor centre!
