Hi All,

Not sure where else to post this question, so forgive me if it's in the wrong section. I'm looking to start another website and was wondering what y'all thought is the BEST hosting and design service to subscribe to? I've looked at Yahoo! and Intuit so far, but I know there must be a few others out there that're reputable and affordable. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks All

I'm a huge fan of BlueHost.com for hosting. I put all my web sites there. I'm not sure what a "design service" is – I assume that means the host gives you a design shell?

Frankly, as easy as the web design software is these days, it just makes a lot more sense to do your own, unless you just want to do a simple blog.

I also used TMP member Jim at tablegamer dot com to do some design for me that was beyond my skills.

GoDaddy.com is reasonable

To me, a 'design service' is a site that offers both hosting and templates/customization capability, etc to design a site (like Yahoo!) EC, your term "design shell." I used to use FrontPage to design and subscribed to a local hosting service, but I'm seeing that the online services are less expensive and offer 24/7 support--unlike my local guy.

Since I'm not up to current speed on this stuff, I'm speculating that there are probably reputable online hosting services out there that also offer design templates for ease of use as well. I was thinking it might be easier to simply have a hosting service and design capability within one company as being the easiest to use--but, as always, I'm counting on the collective expertise here to steer me in the right direction.

There is a man that hosts a lot of wargames sites including mine, nice man and helpful too.

I used Joomla to setup our club site which is hosted by phpwebhosting.com – hosting cost me $10 USD a month.

Joomla is pretty easy to install and configure. There are also lots of plug-ins (galleries, fora, etc…) and styles. I'm no web-designer, and I was able to put up a functional site pretty easily.

Our club site is home.bofthebb.com if you want to see an example.

Bluehost has a lot of content management add-ons (they are free) that will do what you describe. Their reliability is great, and at $6.95/month worth every penny.

I have to echo EC on this one…I've designed out ACW website and have it up on Bluehost. I love their service, and reliability, plus all the options.
The only issue I have, and it may be with me and the application I am using is uploading video onto the site…
Other than that I am 100% satisified with it.

I'd recommend bluehost as well as I use them myself.

And I do web design and can be reached at contact at motiondigital dot com.

I use yola.com Completely free unless you want a domain name so you can play around with it at no clst and make your decision to stay or move on…

I use Bluehost as well. They came recommended to me and for a guy who had no prior experience with web design or management, they've done me right. Prices are very reasonable.

For web design, I use iWeb, but it has limitations on what you can do with it.

I've liked order.1and1.com for a number of years now – check out all their packages and features for each.

I also do web design "stuff" at landowski.info.

Cheers
