I'm not usually an early adopter of RPG/SF themed/roleplay skirmish (most of my cash seems to be being ivested in Perry 28's as we speak). Particularly as there are as yet no rules for the game.

Despite the cost of these 50mm individual figures (though taken as an "army" of 4-5 models they compare to other games) I have been able to suspend my cynicism and be bowled over by these figures to the extent I have bought some.

What sort of rules/games set (the manufacturer will publish in early 2010) would you use?

Those are great!

I'd use my Victorian amendments to 'Astounding Tales!', which (if I ever finish writing them up) I'll call "Stiff Upper Lip".

I love the clockwork mantis. I wish these were in 28mm. I could use them in, RunePunk: Uprising, one of our upcoming Savage Worlds Showdown titles. It is based in our RunePunk RPG setting.

Howard – that is a great name for the amendment.

Yeah I tend to think they would do better in 28mm. Still there are a number of the figs that could be used for 28mm games. I'm thinking that crocodile thing would make a great crypt lord for wargods and the clockwork mantis works at any scale.

My favourite one is the professor dude in the mechanical monkey suit.

I've bought Tinkerbell and Bismarck but I love the Professor and Mister Honk. Mei Lung is also cool.

I think I'm sold.

Great figures, and as has been stated it is a shame they are not 28mm.
For rules, you can check out the Role Playing version of our GASLIGHT VSF rules written by Chris Johnston, called Advenrtures & Expeditions by GASLIGHT:

The clockwork mantis is a thing of wonder, but at $45 USD it makes you wonder… who the heck can afford one? Beauty figure though.
