I've had a number of requests for photos and details about the 1:2400 scale ships available from My Little Ship Company out of the UK.

These are not great shots but I thought they'd be helpful. You can see them here:

The MLSC models are 1:2400 scale. They are generally simple and rugged models. They are predominantly one piece castings (the aircraft carriers generally have separate super structures).

I have only done the most basic clean up of major flash – I have not filed off mold lines or sanded the bottoms flat, so keep that in mind when evaluating the pictures.

Of course you can't beat the prices! Smaller ships are $2.00 usually for a pack of three, and the larger capital ships are just $3.25.

That's right, a 1:2400 aircraft carrier for a mere $3.25:

I have not "pushed" these as I'm still waiting on a stock order to fill in some major holes in the stock. But after a number of e-mails I decided to at least do some quick photos and reaffirm the prices and scales of these models.

Many thanks EC. Metal for a good price. May have to order some!

The ones with the mold line right down the middle of the deck from bow to stern could be bears to clean up without losing what detail there is. But they are not the only company with that problem. Metal for the price of the other guy's resin. Hmmmmm.

I have a British WW1 fleet from them and they are just fine on the table. Paint up well enough and I Future wash mine; very small dips in the lines can lead to wash accumulating in the wrong area but teasing it out with a brush works well.

Most ships have just minor flashing but some of the destroyers have really bad mould lines (2 out of my 8), so mush so they are not worth fixing and are to become sunken vessel markers. But at 25pence per destroyer it's a minor irritant rather than reason not to buy.

My opponent has the GHQ lovingly crafted and very expensive German fleet. From 2 to 3 feet one can hardly see the difference and his fight just as incompetently as mine.

For a cheep foray into the scale and genre they are worth it.

Looks good as I feild everything from Navco to GHQ it is a great addition. For campain boards I will even mix 1/2400 and 1/3000. Will give them a try.

Mark,

I saw a few dreadnoughts (which you appear to be out of) . . . do you carry any Pre-Dreadnoughts?
