This small and largely forgotten engagement marked the end of the Confederate goal of crossing the Susquehanna River during the Gettysburg Campaign and marching on Harrisburg. I cover this expedition to the river extensively in my recent book, Flames Beyond Gettysburg: The Gordon Expedition, June 1863.

A Johnny Reb wargaming scenario for Wrightsville was published in the scenario book Crossed Sabers: Scenarios from the Gettysburg Campaign, which is available from the Johnny Reb Gaming Society (whose logo is featured on the polo shirt I am wearing in the video).

Thanks for posting Scott, I didn't know much about the battle other than the bridge got burned. I used to live just outside of Wrightsville and learning about local history is fun so I'll have to get your book.

The book is currently on sale through the Christmas season for $20 USD for an autographed first edition copy.

That is 20% off the cover price.
