I've made another WW1 aircombat game. I figure the title of the thread would serve as sufficient warning to those familiar with my POV so that they could just steer clear and avoid the heartache/stress.

For the rest…

It's aim is brawlish, lighthearted, fun dice-rolling with some friends while pushing little airplane models around a tabletop --but not so much pushing that one has to set down one's beer…

The rough-draft (the WAD stuff) can be viewed at:

it's free, it's anonymous…what more could you ask?

A delivery of free, well painted minis to go with it when I download the rules. :) Well you did ask.

And some of that beer you are talking about…
beer

For the beer you'll have to deal with my cousin ( link ) -- the making/supplying is his department, I just do the drinking part!

As to the minis: I'd put it on my list of things to do, but since making the list is so far down the list I haven't gotten to it yet…

Could you post a detailed example of play? I'm not familiar with either Watch Your 6 (too expensive to buy sight unseen) or Algy (not available now at TFL) and haven't quite figured out 'Dogfight.' I like the idea of a "flight-level" air combat game and would like to see how your take on it works.

SOL -
There are some photos of basic moves (related to group cohesion) as well as combat on the photobucket page: link

No real details, though. Tomorrow looks like rotten weather – maybe I'll have some time to write/post some better examples…anything in particular you're looking for?

As to being a flight-level game: while having flights (or sections or squadrons) is encouraged the unit of the game is still the single aircraft, and once in combat it's every man for himself and --unless groups are reformed (not easy to do)-- a game will end up with individual aircraft all over the place.

As to Dogfight: the Dogfight folder in the brawlfactory photobucket page contains a couple AARs that may help with deciphering the game. There is also the game's discussion page over in the Miniaturewargaming site if there's a question or whatever you'd like covered.

thanks for the interest.

"…maybe I'll have some time to write/post some better examples…"

FWIW, I found time to stick in a couple combat examples (detailing dice rolling and such) as well as general movement from the first turn of a playtest game on the link from above.
