I'd have bought a regiment or two if it wasn't for the d****d postage. No way to run a business! Simon |

Left work late last night, then had to run to Va for some supplies, heading back in 1/2 hour to home. Missed the sale (again) as work got in the way of my ordering. Maybe next year, let us Yanks hope the Pound tanks by sales time next year. Bill Peterson 27 Oct 2009 7:10 a.m. PST vojvoda, you could also buy Wargames Factory Ancient Germans. Yeap I plan on doing those as well. I just really want a core army of the Foundry Germans if I can get them. VR James Mattes |

In terms of service, I've had an email last night that my order which I placed on Saturday (24th) was in the post. Not with Royal Mail but TNT to avoid the strikes. This is the fourth or fith order I've placed in the last eighteen months and all have been this quick and efficient. Stumpy, no-necked, and short! Anyone else think the comedian Andy Hamilton was a Foundry product? picture picture

Whats all the fuss about! If you want to buy Foundry in Australia your looking at around $5.00 AUD RRP per figure. You guys complain because there is a price difference of maybe 50cents to a dollar, try living in Australia! But you know what, if the figures are well sculpted and you play that scale, then it shouldn't matter what price you pay. I do not play 25mm and yes I do love the Plastics even if I do not play 28mm. But at the end of the day if I did play 28mm then I can tell you right now I would certainly not blink at getting Foundry figures. They are beautiful and they have a great range. Too often gamers winge about prices then winge because their hooby is not supported as well as they would like. If you are not willing to pay the price don't play the games!!!!! Support your games shops and manufacturers and stop winging. Nobody winges at being paid to do their job in the governemtn or as a clerk or as a bus driver or computer tech etc, but these same people winge about their suppliers making any money. Just try supporting your hobby and accept that Foundry and any other games business has as much right to earn a living and make money as all the rest of you 9-5 workers who do less work than most of the people in the hobby industry will ever do but complain if they try and feed their families!!!!! Enough ranting as I have to go to my 9-5 job in the morning. At least I appreciate what groups like Foudry have tried to do for the Hobby, yes along with Battlefront and Games workshop. If you have an actual preference for another style of sculpt or set of rules or scale of miniatures then that is fine support anotehr company based on that. If its just a question of price, then buy less figures. Lets face it most of us never paint enough of the damn things anyway and always have a load of lead in the cupboard. |

If you live in the US, you can buy Foundry figures thru Caliver books. If you buy at least 16 1/2 pounds of figures (todays rate about 25 or 26 dollars), you get FREE shipping. Now I have purchased from them a couple of times, and you might have to wait a bit
but free is free. |

Yes another new sale. Are Foundry the new "Allied Carpets"? :-) For non UK residents Allied Carpets are a now defunct carpet chain who had endless sales. As soon as one ended another started. As far as pricing goes with the current 20% sale even individual packs work out at £1.18 GBP a figure, for regiment and unit pack deals it comes to £0.98 GBP making them slightly cheaper than Front Ranks and Perry. |

I bought a medieval knight regiment at the last sale – along with a kubelwagen and some British Airborne. That's my fourth Foundry Regiment, and all has been great with each. Interestingly, while Foundry are some of the better figures in my collection, I like Renegade British Airborne better than these. Their Knights though? Those are some great figures. I owned a few, but looking at an entire regiment
Wow. They're on the "to do" pile. Interestingly, I have never had to contact them for customer service (8 or 9 large orders over the years), so if it stinks, it just hasn't impacted me. I've also only paid shipping once. I buy around their free postage deals ;-). Don. |

My real problem with Foundry is they are total s with postage
and they have their own ish currency conversion so they charge those outside of the UK more for the miniatures to begin with. Funny how a great company like East Riding Miniatures can send me a packet of 10-15 miniatures for under a quid and they are packed and sent and on my doorstep in the USA in about 5 or 6 days
. And I am betting that Foundry have a few more bodies in their shipping department too

| Darkoath | 29 Oct 2009 4:13 p.m. PST |
Ok please substitute jerks for s! Ohhh and don't get me wrong I really like Foundry miniatures
just think they could run the company better and be a bit nicer to their customers. Darkoath |

Dear bavoisSYW – it's only fair that you should have to pay extortionate prices for British products – it makes up for you beating Us at all those sports we invented and let you play – we just didn't expect you to take it so seriously though ;-) I see that recently your compatriots have cunningly wised up to this practice and have given us a bit chance to re-dress the balance. It's just a shame for You that all Our best Rugger players are now injured for the Autumn Test Match otherwise 90-3 in England's favour may have seen you get a better price on your minis – still we can only live in hope
. Why would anyone in their right minds want to buy those horrible plastic -TOYS? when you can have proper metal ones For real Collectors Buy 'em from Foundry now while there cheap! |

We have have a bad run of things lately. I guess the Aussies are being humbled a fair bit in the sports arena. But at least the Aussie dollar is begiining to become almost competitive, its what $1.00 AUD = $0.54 USD pence. Thats almost amazing. Still I remmember as a lad getting British pounds fom my relatives in England and getting pretty much equal exchange. What happened! Maybe we were too busy playing cricket and rugby and forgetting about the Aussie dollar and International trade etc. That and getting way too drunk! Such a silly lot we are!!!! |

Tons of these Foundry figures find their way to my painting service each time they have a sale. So I'm not complaining. I quite like the Russian Napoleonics which someone kindly sent me recently. For whatever reason, Foundry are incredibly popular.I guess they outsell Front Rank + Elite at ten to one. But they are pretty expensive at full price. I'm now doing ready painted metal Napoleonics @ $2 USD each. There are cheaper alternatives out there. |
| bcminiatures1 | 02 Nov 2009 7:19 a.m. PST |
Chortle – I have not seen any reference to the ready painted napoleonics on your RBP site. To stay related to the thread – Foundy figs are generally non-starters for me due to the pricing. As I age and can spend less time painting, I have to factor into my budget the cost of getting the toys painted as part of the true cost of the figure. I would be interested to see samples of what can be done for $2 USD per figure (excluding postage of course). BC |

Foundry have plenty of stuff I want! Would like to see them come up with some better deals and to expand on some current one's, cost is a thing, I feel they are somewhat expensive especially on the periods I collect, many of which have been out for years
Crimean, AWI, Sikh Wars, BW, NW Frontier. The later two are packaged in such a way that you would end up with too many of the same pose, I sent an email to Foundry with suggestions some months ago, I never got a reply! |
| Arkoudaki | 02 Nov 2009 5:13 p.m. PST |
Let's face it, Foundry has changed dramatically over the years and not for the better. Yet, they do still offer some great figures made from some great design talent. I have loads of Foundry figs but I wouldn't buy then today as the prices are just way too high, especially given the competition. It is truly sad to see such a once great firm go this way but nothing last forever
heck, they just closed all three McDonald's in Iceland this week
so anything is possible! |
