I'll see if I can manage to make it from Europe. I believe this sywa con is the place I ought to be as a 7YW nut. Nothing else like this around this globe. At this time it is a 50%+ option. |

Christian and Cesar: it would be great to have both of you attend. 1st Varty: you have no excuse, you can get in your car and drive. |

Checked the event listing and see that the "Big Battalions " game is Saturday. Hope to attend. Oggie |

This is a small event as to number of attendees and dealers and games, BUT those who do attend are highly motivated to present very good to magnificent visual and playable events. There are always plenty of goods to peruse and purchase, both new retail and lots, gobs, scads, of old out of production items and "junk boxes full to the brim with just what you have been looking for elsewhere" The folks are , as a group, the best set of gamers and dealers, anywhere I have been! If you have some intrest in SYW, AWI, FIW (major or casual) try to go to one of these meetings. You will not regret it! |

I went for the first time last year. Enjoyed it. Parked the car and had a room at the hotel, never had to use the car. I only played two games but one went about 7 hours. As I have health problems that was good for me, plus when tired I could just whip up to the room to recoup. Bought a fair amount of items, mostly at a very good fair price. It was a casual affair and people where quite nice. I am fairly new to SYW so I learned a bit also. Mr Duffy autographed some of my books. Want to go back, but just had a couple of heart attacks otherwise would have already booked my room. |

Is it the following airport?: South Bend/ Michiana (SBN) If not what is the nearest one? As i will be alone is there anything to visit/see in the area? Thanks guys Jean Lc |

The airport is correct. Things to see and do: Center for History and College Football Hall of Fame if it is still open and here. Both are rated "gems" by AAA. The South Bend Chocolate Factory is within walking distance and is enjoyable. Of course- Notre Dame University |

Things to see and do: You left out my favorite (outside of the con itself), Baldwinbob: right next door to the hotel is Fiddler's Hearth, the best Irish pub this side of the Atlantic! The comfy chairs in front of the fireplace are the perfect place to settle in with a pint of stout and discuss the day's adventures with some of the other Gentlemen Wargamers. |

Thank you Guys! the Irish club is good news at least i can have a drink and chat with some of you them. Now College football is not my thing (remember i come from Europe) and chocolates well as i live in Belgium
But if i come i can bring you some real chocolate. Now it seems not so far from Chicago i might combine the two. I will for sure need a car so maybe i can stay a night in Chicago drive to south bend stay there and return a few days in chicago. Jean Luc i ll have to think about it, |

Those going to Chicago might want to consider visiting the Museum of Science and Industry. My favorite exhibit is: The Battle of the Atlantic Huge displays including the captured U-505 submarine. You get to go inside it too. I spent 1.5 hours there two years ago. There is also a Stuka from N. Africa and either a Hurricane or Spitfire. Spitfire I think? All hanging from the ceiling. Other aircraft too. The Chigao International Airport is O'Hare. The above museum can easily be on the way to the South Bend SYW Convention/Show. Bill
