just wondered wat colours (preferably Vallejo) people use for British Desert Uniforms

Sadly not Vallejo. Humbrol sand for the base, disruptive pattern GW bestial brown. Brown ink wash around the webbing, give the whole thing a light drybrush of light stone. In fact exactly the same as I do temperate DPM, but without the green disruptive.

If you use the Vallejo Game Colour range, Bestial Brown is the same as VGC Beasty Brown.
