After being an original subscriber to MagWeb and dumped recently without notice, I'd like to know if the rumors that the web 'zine will start anew. Or is it r.i.p.? If so, that's a pity since the concept was a really good one.

Every so often MagWeb seems to go belly up and then eventually returns.

"If so, that's a pity since the concept was a really good one."

Apparently not.

Magweb was pretty popular for years Mike. Although they now aren't active they were pretty successful for quite a while.

Thanks,

John

I didn't say it wasn't popular in its time. I did say that perhaps with hindsight the concept was not necessarily very good.

"Thanks"

For what?

I think the problem lies not with the concept of MagWeb, but rather in the implementation.

Lots of issues with the server, site search etc, made it less user friendly than would have been ideal.

Even so I would gladly renew my subscription to the service as it was at the same rate.

I think there were un-recoverable server errors

Sincethat used to be the only way gamers come get copies of the articles in my Time Portal passages magazine, it was always sad when Magweb had problems.

Well, if they were successful for years I would debate the concept not being very good thought. Their issues seemed to stem from the tech side of things not the product provided.

Thanks,

John
