Any suggestions for figure manafactures for Flemings, 25/8mm, circa 1330-80? I'm building a new army for DBMM. Thanks in advance. Tom Thomas |

Foundry makes some nice pikemen (pack MED 205): link Communal infantry with "godendags", hammers, and axes can come from Old Glory: link Command, kniggets, and such can come from either range; the two manufacturers go together quite well in this case. Allen |

Also, Old Glory 14th century Scottish spearmen will work for Flemings. The only thing Scottish about them are sword hilts. Check also Old Glory Flemish spearmen from their WotR range, they will work also for earlier period. Old Glory other French/Spanish infantry from 14th century will also work for Flemish. Mirliton has an excellent range of Italian city states militia from early 14th century. They will all work for Flemish militia. |

Here are some photos from my Low Countries WAB army. The pikemen are all Old Glory Flemish Pikemen from their WotR range. The other figures (handgunners and command are mostly foundry with some Old Glory. link |

I had been hesitant to recommend the OG pikemen, as a percentage of the helmets are out of period for what Thomas Thomas had indicated. But they're very nice figures, too. You can see from teboj17's link that there are generally two poses: defending and advancing. The defending ones are less bulky and would mix fine with Foundry's c.14th figures: I have a bunch set aside to do that some day. The advancing poses are considerably bulkier, IMO, but work well for the c.15th. Or they can all go together if you're not as picky as I am! Allen |

Jeez, all this talk and not a single mention of Perry Miniatures? Their Agincourt to Orleans range is nominally out of period, but a lot of the figures are still useful (styles didn't change that much), and packs AO4 and AO17 come with Plancons on the weapons sprue. I use the lighter equpped dudes as Planconniers for whenever I do a Low Countries army. Damon. |
