Stronghold Miniatures has a range of Home Guard support weapons, The Blacker bombard; Smith Gun and Northover Projector. I was wondering whether anyone could recommend those model or not. I was also a bit concerned about the company itself since it has some negative press on these pages, but nothing since 2007

Can't comment on the weapons but I have one of their Beaverette armoured cars which is quite good.

Definitely recommend the old SDD Homeguard range.

We have one of those in 15mm too: link

The only reason I mention it is that it was specifically produced in response to customer queries saying they couldn't get hold of Mike to get one of the Stronghold ones…

I have the Northover and the Smith gun – nice models, not exceptional but certainly above average.

The poorer service from Stronghold tends to be for resin items from memory – I got my order of metal figures quickly, but a subsequent resin order never happened, nor was any mail I sent replied to. But that was some time ago (2006, maybe? 2005?)

I used to have quite a few of these before I foolishly got out of WW2 15mm. They were rather nice models as I recall.
