I have just finished the Newline Designs Blucher and Ney figures posted below:

Nice range of figures that deserve a second look from us 20mm fiends (sorry, fans)!

Jolly nice work Matt!

Are Newline doing any Russian personalities yet? (I supppose at a pinch Blucher could become Kutuzov). Reminds me I still have a division of ESCI Russians to paint!

Nice job on those. Great proportions and fitting paint jobs!

Thanks chaps!

Timbo, I am not aware of what is in the pipeline with Newline, but the addition of the Austrian Horse Artillery is an encouraging sign! They are quite easy to convert-the Prussian Landwehr mounted officers have Russian potential.

I'm a big 20mm fan, but I'm concerned about compatability with other 20mm figs. Most are really "true 25mm," but the Newline are generally true 20mm.

I do have some Newline's that are slightly taller than others, so maybe I'm unduly worried.

So Matt, do you have some other 20mm figures for a side-by-side comparison?

In the "to-do" pile are French artillery from Newline, Kennington and Art Miniaturen, the latter two are larger/plastic compatible. I intend to post them all together for a comparison soon.

I'm glad to hear that. I have long believed that the Newline are not compatable with the others. In this day and age, that scale compatability needs to begin with the plastics now on the market, which tend to be 1/76, tho Zvezda seems more like 1/72.
