Gentlemen, an experiment by our new sculptor. Separate alternate heads for use with 1:72 plastics. Those are just single demo pieces but the final sprue will have at least multiples of 5 different heads. For example modern east-european male as well as female head sprues for your zombie games or former Yugoslavia. Future sprues include topics like WWII german / soviet zombies and SF helmets ;)

The final product will be cast in metal and packed in multiples of 5. There is a very big possibility that similar sprues will be created for 15mm and 28mm miniatures…

What do you think ?

Good idea, especially since there are not quite so many choices for 1/72 scale items. Mind you that is changing but it is always good to have customization options.

Good idea…..spooky through, since i'm currently doing head swaps for 20mm plastic figures using different plastic figures and spare 15mm GZG heads (once removed from the bodies).

20mm Caesar miniatures with 15mm GZG heads.

Superglue (I'm using my free sample from Filla-Glu) and a touch of ordinary plastic model kit glue will get you a permanent bond……at least it has in my case.

So I would be very interested in another source of 20mm heads.

There's definately a market for this so I like the initiative but the sculpts need to be better. I'm sure they will by time but as it is now the plastic figure shown in the pictures has a better looking head than the sculpt. Keep working though, getting good at sculpting takes a lot of time.

I agree with Arvaker – the sculpts are a bit rough, and maybe a little oversized as well.

@Earl

Nice conversions. I've always maintained that heads (and hands) of many 15mm figures were much more suited for 1/72 than for their intended scale. I've gone so far as to increase the height of 15mm figures to be compatible with 1/72.

Did you pin the heads at all, or is it all just glued in place?

As I said just superglue mixed with a tiny bit of plastic kit glue and they are on solid…..really solid, I've dropped them, dropped things on them (not intentionally, just in general as I've worked on them grin) and I haven't had a head come loose yet.

Since I now know it works I've gone back to projects with bendy plastics I abandoned a few years ago.

Nice tip on that 15mm heads and hands.

If you hit the plastic bits with the activator from Loctite
Plastic Glue it allows you to use super glue to glue directly. I do head swaps that way with no pinning.

Arvaker, I was informed that the plastics are created three times the size and reduced to the final size. I believe that would explain the higher amount of details, but I will pass this information onto the sculptor.

I guess I'll be off to the craft store to get some new glue soon!

Thanks guys
