For whipping. No, I'm actually looking for a Mfg. of such other than Foundry, I bought some of theirs back when they were a reasonable price. I aint gonna pay $6-7 apiece for dead animals. These are for my British forces fighting the Zulu's & Pathans. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks, Peter |

Custer's Last Stand pack from Old Glory has 10 dead horses. Less than $2 USD each if you have the army discount. |

Just bought some from Hinds (Hinchcliffe) and some from Front Rank. Both companies do an excellent job on these. |

I used some left over horses and filed one side down and painted them. Works fine for me. |

I haven't tried it, but rather than filing down a lead figure -- sounds tricky and a little dangerous to me -- could you glue a horse to a base and then use some sort of putty to build up around it a little -- for the same effect? |

Have I read of horses dying having fallen to their knees, but "upright"? You'd need to get a horse with head down, or do some conversion on the neck. |

Antietam, A Photographic History by William Frassanito has a picture of a horse dead on its knees. Amazon has 3 paperback copies for less than $15. USD |

Knuckleduster has dead horses. They also have "hitching rail" horses, saddled horses just standing around. |
