I was at the Wydah Pirate display at Field Museum in Chicago. Nice exhibit with a gorgeous 30+inch model of the Wydah. The store had pirate doo rags for $33.00. I thought I could do better. Bought fabric, cut into triangles. Braided hairy yarn (Hobby Lobby), added some beads, sealed the tops with iron patch in the edge of the doo rag with three braids on each side, and some dangly beads. Made ten for under $30. USD Did a pirate game with 9 players at Luther Con in Chicago early this month. All had a doo rag including the militia. A woman ran up to me to ask where she could buy them.

At Feast of Hunter's Moon in W. Lafayette, Ind. last weekend, a Voyageur fest, I purchased a Gorget officer's neck shield from a vendor. The milita commander will wear it.

I use a chest of replica doubloons for instant gratification for the pirates as they loot places on the board. Nothing like chink.

Perhaps they would also like the taste of some chocolate coins! Yummy

Any idea how long that display will be up at the museum. My family likes to travel to Chicago once in a while.

What's a doo rag?

I am not sure, but I think it's a cleaning utensil you mop the floor with while saying "aaar?".

My apologies to all those easily offended, but I had a sudden lucid moment that prompted a sudden release.

cheers,
… and a bottle of rum.

Good ideas, Matsuru!

Arteis, a doo rag is another name for a headwrap or scarf tied around/over your head.
