Who makes them? I know of FAA and SHQ, am I missing anyone else?

Cheers- Dave

Toms Tins but no web presence

I hate to sound like a techno-snob, but "no web presence" pretty much translates into "no purchases" for me.

Don't get me wrong: I have been in this hobby a VERY long time, and I well remember (and fondly remember) sending an SASE and waiting weeks for a mailed, photocopied listing of figures in the days before the world wide web. In a way, it made the whole experience more fun and satisfying.

It's just this: today, (and indeed, since 1995) putting up a web site is SO easy, and SO cheap, that it seems ridiculous not to have one if you are trying to sell to a niche market. Add to that the fact that most customers simply expect you to have a web site, and you are basically committing economic suicide by not having one. Add in a global market scattered across 24 time zones and you have even less excuse for "no web presence."

I hear a lot about Tom's Tins, and the figures sound neat, but given the glut of excellent 20mm figures out there, I can easily afford to focus on those manufacturers who provide me with 24 hour access, photos, and maybe even online ordering (not required, but very handy).

Pardon my rant, but if it helps folks like Tom's Tins to see that they need to put up a simple, inexpensive web site to at least list their wares and ordering info online, I will have done the hobby a service.

I wish Tom's Tins, and indeed all of you, the best of success, wealth, and happiness.

Cheers!

settle down mate, the guy is in his 80's apparently so technology may not be his cup of tea but his service is second to none and ranks up there with Milicast and others whereas there are some companies with a web presence whose service is substandard to say the least
