Looking for suggestions on good books about the Italian Navy in WW2 that are written in English. New to this subject, so any help is appreciated.

For some introductary style books i recommend : REGIA MARINA- Italian Battleships of WW2 by Ermino Bagnasco & Mark Grossman.

Also Warship Pictorial #23 Italian Heavy Cruisers of WW2. Both are in english with loads of photos & text, hope this helps.

There is a good web site on the Italian navy. It is regiamarina.net. I hope this helps a little bit.

I will also suggest you the classic:

"The Naval War in the Mediterranean 1940-1943" by Jack Green and Alessandro Massignani

and the recent:

"Struggle for the Middle Sea" by Vincent P. O'hara

hope this will help

"The Italian Navy in World War II" by Marc' Antonio Bragadin is a fine history told from the Italian viewpoint.

I can recommend Struggle for the Middle Sea as well. I read it recently and was pleased with the information and level of detail it provided.

The Naval War in the Mediterranean 1940-1943 by Jack Greene and Alessandro Massignani gets my vote too.

You might the casemate website. They have a number of companies listed. Some specialize in naval warfare.

James Sadkovich, The Italian Navy in World War II by Greenwood Press is probably the most complete history. It's ridiculously expensive at $126.95, but a really big library might have it or could get it through inter-library loan.

I've read a little Sadkovich, and while the Italians definitely need a little redress, he goes a little off the deep end, in my opinion.
