I have a box of bits and pieces from the Redoubt line. You pay for postage to cross the Pond and they are yours. |

Isn't there a 40mm Greek Myth range around somewhere? |
| Spartan | 10 Oct 2009 8:10 a.m. PST |
Spartan Games and Flashing Blade has 40mm Greeks. Foundry has a Jason & The Argonauts range, Reaper has a recent Perseus holding a Medusa's head, a Spartan hero and a Medusa (a la Clash of The Titans). For general hoplites you can use several different companies. Too me, a hoplite is a hoplite. It's a matter of the pose and which sculpt you prefer. Gorgon Miniatures has a nice range of Hoplites. Crusader Miniatures has rank and file hoplites which look great. Black Tree Design has Greek hoplites as well. Renegade has a Punic War range if you want a bit of variety. Crocodile Game has Spartans which look like they came out of the movie 300. Crocodile Spartans are a bit larger than the other ranges but are very nice sculpts. Immortal Miniatures has Greek hoplites as well as coming out with a plastic range of hoplites. Aventine Miniatures has a nice range of Etruscans which can also be used as Romans or whatever you wish. After all, it's Greek myth and with imagination the sky's the limit. Hope this helps. |

"Immortal Miniatures has Greek hoplites as well as coming out with a plastic range of hoplites." Has anyone heard anything about those plastic hoplites
I need to get into a new genre of war gaming and these sound like just the ticket. |

According to the Immortal website, the plastics are essentially done, but not quite ready for release. By the way, I purchased 100 Hoplites in metal from Immortal. very nice figures, absolutely no clean up needed. Assembling metal figures is a bit of a pain, but they do look really good when finished. |

RalPartha has a nice-looking Chimera and Gryphon, as well as other "mythological" figures. At least they look good in the catalog photos – not sure how large they are though. |

Reaper miniatures as well. They just did a Perseus figure (#3437). |

You might point him to related blogs as well. The Big Red Bat has good stuff about ancients, if not Greek Myth exactly

Tabletopwarrior, you just lit up a dull Sunday at work
I do like Eureka's Amazons. I was very taken by the horse antlers when they dug up the Ice Maiden so I could like a set of figures like that. The girls playing pipes etc are kewl too I wonder if I could devise some sort of system for mythical 'posses'? |

Hoplites are not "Greek Myth". Sorry guys, but Greek myths took place around 1200BC +/- 200 years. YMMV. No hoplites back then. Now, if you are talking MOVIE Greek Myth, that's another story. The Foundry ones are perfect for a Jason and the Argonauts movie. For the life of me, I can't see why someone does not come out with 28mm Olympian gods and goddesses. They should be "normal" size, because of all the begetting they did, and because Athene was Diomedes' charioteer. BTW, when I win the Lottery, the first range that OFM Enterprises will produce will be an Olympian Gods range in 28mm. Don't hold your breath waiting for it. |

OFM- Chiltern Miniatures do them |

They aren't 28mm. They don't fit with my minis. |

The Medusa would make a nice Greek maiden with a head swap! |

Correct – it is a myth that Greeks are 28mm. tabletopwarrior – she don't look married! |

Art of War has a few (4 poses) of the 300-style Spartans. They're a little big for 25mm square bases, but are excellent models. |
