I need alien enemies for my human colonials for Soldiers Companion and TSATF games. Other than the old Space 1889 figures, what do folks use for VSF aliens? They need not be Martians per se, but have a look that would work in a Colonial setting here on earth or elsewhere.

Parrom Station does some great looking Martians and other things. You can get them from Brigade games here in the states.

GW Kroot are a popular choice.

And plenty other suggestions here:

I think the new Mantic Elves would be excellent Martians.

Parroom Station Cephalids are pretty nice looking.

They make bipedal Martians as well.

Just to clear up a modern misunderstanding… if it exists… RAFM still make the "old" 1889 figures, and some new ones. Don't fall for the "oop" prices on ebay.

I like the Parroom stuff also look at the D&D plastic stuff to flesh them out.

Off of the top of my head…..
Black Hat
Hydra
Killer b games..?

well that's as fast as I can recall before bedtime.

I really like those 2000AD style Klegg mercenary lizard types, I can't remember who it is that makes the not-one of those crocodile fellows?

I may remember more when I awake ;)

Depending on the tech level you want, I've just gotten various tribal figures (Foundry's Darkest Africa Tribal Musketeers, Askari's Touregs) & painted them a different skin color.

Thanks. I totally forgot Parroom Station. Didn't know 1889 figures are still being made. Lots of good suggestions.

Just finished painting up some of the still-available Copplestone elves as Hill Martians.. and have a unit
of Dark Elf Witch Elves as a fanatic cult..

GW & Grenadier Lizardmen are excellent Venusians..
(I have a set of Grenadier 'Flamethrower' lizards..:-)
The plastic skinks make for great hordes..

For Luna, I converted some old GW goblins by drilling out the eyes and putting in little balls of dessicant.. talk about bug-eyed..:-)

Now.. if you want things armed with rifles.. uhm..
there I'm interested in other's comments.. :-)

Check out Ironclad as they do two types of humanoids for VSF.

I second Ironclad Miniatures, some interesting Martians and Sanwar figures.

I would third Ironclad Miniatures. I saw their figures at Derby World championships and drooled over them.

I'm painting up a load of the Ironclad Martians as we speak.

Splendid castings with virtually no flash or mould lines to remove.

I'm using mine as hollow-Earthers having already taken the elf route for my Martians.
