Help me out here, gents
I'm looking for 28mm figures to represent Mexican Federales
I've got some of Outpost's miniatures, (AFAIK the only 28mm Federales available.) but I'm not too keen on the sculpts, and I'm looking to replace them. So
figures in tunic and field cap, leather webbing, armed with bolt-action rifles. I'm not too fussy about which model of rifle, or about the correct webbing. Long boots or Riding boots would be preferable, but I could live with puttees. Copplestone's 'White Russians in Chinese Service' are the closest I've found, but they come in mixed bags with some very unsuitable variants. (blanket rolls & fur hats!) |

Result! (checks website
dammit, no pics!) I'm looking for some nicer sculpts than the one I already have, so I'd really like to get a look at the figures
any ideas? |

The other OG site probably has pics. I have several other bags of that range, and they are typical OG sculpts -- not awesone in quality, but perfectly adequate. |

You were probably on the "other" OG site. Here's the one with pictures: link This is their Poncho [sic] Villa & Pershing in Mexico range. Jim |

Pity about the OG website and no pictures. I like the Outpost federales, service cap, kepi and even sun helmet and then the cavalry too. The Old Glory are as every bit as nice. The rifles are a tad larger and less prone to breakage. |

The OG line is very nice. Don't forget that Foundry has Mexican troops for the 1870's-80's that would also work..if that range is still in production. Only infantry though is the range never expanded beyond that. |

I have used Copplestone Chinese for Mexicans picture These have blanket roll too picture and even the odd figure with a blanket roll might have happened in Mexico, a sarape for example, over the shoulder picture Sometimes I have asked Mr. Copplestone to send a selected set of figures from a collection. Perhaps you could ask for no blanket rolls. The Pulp Figues regular Chinese also serves in Mexico picture Here are some pics from a game my son and I did, the Great War in Mexico picture picture on the roof are some Old Glory dsmt Mexican cav. picture

Second the vote from Bob – we have used Copplestone Chinese for "miscellaneous South of the Border" armies |

Cheers, Gents
more Federales than you can wave a maxim at! (Rurales too
and here I sit with zero willpower
) Still rate those Copplestone figures as the pick of the bunch as far as sculpting is concerned, but the OG are nice enough & have the advantage of varied poses
SOLD! Bob(&HD), your South-of-the-Border set-up looks great! Busy, bloody & atmospheric. Nice paint jobs, BTW. |

I regularly wargame the Mexican Revolution and most of my figures are the OG range – I really like them. I do use Outpost too. You cant go wrong with OG on this range, they are good sculpts. |

I have over the last few years been painting figures for the Mexican Revolution, and I use both Old Glory and Outpost wargames range of figures.I like both ranges and would find it difficult to choose which I prefer best. Both ranges have their good points, for example Outpost do Federales in the Kepi and they also do a Hotchkiss machine gun team for both sides.Old Glory do mounted and dis-mounted Mexican cavalry and U.S. Marines and Sailors for the Vera Cruz occupation. I will end by saying two great ranges for a period I became interested in after watching the film Pancho Villa many many moons ago. |

Late 19th century Japanese figures work pretty well with little conversion. |
