Mantic offered to send out samples to anyone who responded. Not sure about now. I got a set. They are really nice. Not suitable for GW style WHFB figs. Perfect for LOTR.

Thanks,

John

I got mine yesterday. They are sharp looking.

Mine arrived today. Very nice. The elves are noticeably thin, but that appears to be by design; they don't look like humans in funny clothes, which is refreshing. If you're building an elf army for whatever system, definitely consider these.

They remind me of the yellow-pages-finger-man.

Got mine yesterday, too. Nice, and different. You really couldn't get slender minis like that out of metal.

Got mine yesterday. Nice figs. A little too thin for my tastes…even for Elves.

magokiron06 Oct 2009 7:45 p.m. PST

mine arrived yesterday.

Good detail, if somehow frail looking even for elves.

Looking at these models and the new Perry releases, it appears that integral round bases will become the norm for plastics instead of "slottas".

I hope so.

Best wishes.

They look a little thin to me, but that is a matter of taste; in terms of the quality of the sculpting, they look very good. I am looking forward to see releases in other races. And, for that matter, I may well pick up some of these elves because I might need some skinny elf-like dudes for D&D at some point.

Thanks for posting the comparison shots, blacksmith.

Their style reminds me of Patrick Woodroffes art, as well as the pixies, in an old book of fables I had as a kid.

I'd like to see them next to Thunderbolt Mountain elves.
